Importantly, we also decide upon the “next step” (the upsell provided by your business) that will be featured elegantly throughout the book.

Note: if you’ve already started writing your book (or have written it), I still recommend that we go through the research aspect of the planning process – this will help us to see whether or not your current concept is in need of refinement.

I project manage the entire production of your book for you – creating a publication schedule, liaising with external service providers (designers, photographers, illustrators, proofreaders etc), compiling endorsements, writing the back-cover blurb and conducting a final proof of the book before upload.

It’s with this expert guidance that your book will soar. You’ll avoid having to work it all out on your own, which means you’ll avoid stress as well as costly and time-consuming mistakes.

Readers want to connect with YOU, so I highly recommend that you are the writer of your book (if your writing skills are fairly good).

To help your writing shine, you’re provided with regular chapter-by-chapter feedback. You’re also held accountable for staying on track with your writing plan, meaning that you are able to publish your book on schedule (this is so important if you’re planning your launch for a particular time of year or for an event).

Note: if you’ve already written your book, at this stage I would assess your draft manuscript and work with you to bring it to a pre-editing standard (in effect, this would be a developmental edit).

It’s crucial that your manuscript is edited before it is laid out or uploaded. An experienced book editor (which would be – ahem – me) will provide a critical “first reader” perspective. Your manuscript will receive a copyedit, a stylistic edit and a structural edit, and I will also compile and edit the book’s preliminary matter and endmatter. Note: The standard package allows for the editing of up to 50,000 words.

When well edited, your book will provide a seamless, highly pleasurable reading experience for your ideal clients. It’s been said that good editing is like gardening – you should only notice when it hasn’t been done!

Planning your marketing is super-important. Most of this planning is done once the book has received its initial edit, to ensure that your plan reflects the near-final content and focus of the book. This timing also allows for you to set up marketing opportunities that will occur before, during and after the launch period. Comprehensive online- and offline-visibility, public relations and influencer strategies comprise the key areas of our plan.

My designers are experienced in book design, and know what “works” from a marketing perspective. Expect your printed book to be beautiful, and if you uplevel to add an ebook version, be assured that it will have flawless functionality. There is an art to creating effective book-cover and internal-page design, and with my guidance and input, your book’s designer is able to create a gorgeous, client-attracting asset that you and your readers will love. Yep, bespoke book design and layout is included in your package!
